Over the last year, bought lots of items from Penn Tool Co. (800-526-4956) or
http://www.penntoolco.com/main.cfm
Their best values are the Bison line, which includes Pafana lathe tooling, Dolfa indexable end mills & TMX precision measurement.

Be sure to request their 176 page, 2004 "green sale catalog" (prices are still good). Great folks to work with!

Haven't tried the mills yet, did buy the Pafana boring bars. Dead copies of Valenite, right down to the seat & clamp. The 1 3/4" bar is $90, and it's hard to buy a big used bar on eBay for much less.

Their Bison ER-40 collet set is hundreds less than anywhere else.

If I'm going to purchase imported tools I'd rather buy East European than chinese any day. I almost think they could produce fair superior hobbiest type machines at not too far above the cost of the PRC stuff with far higher quality

I really expected to see a joke in this thread. I mean the header reads like a one liner.

"A priest, a Rabbi, And a Plumber walk into a bar..."

I recently bought an 8" Bison 4 jaw chuck (A1-6) and it seems to be nice quality.

cheers,
