I've seen pictures of a homemade boring head. I was wondering if anyone had enough time on thier hands to build a "Narex" style boring head. Thought I might but I'll think I'll have to wait for retirement, cause I don't have enough time to do my projects now!

If by "Narex"style head, you mean one that can face, Metal Lathe Accessories sells a casting kit with drawings and plans for just such a unit. It has an R8 shank and looks like it would be great tool. I just finished a t-slotted cross slide from one of their castings and have to say it was the best iron casting I've ever worked with. In building some English kits, and reworking some Tiwan faceplates, I developed a great distaste for cast iron. The stuff from MLA is super. These people know their stuff and their products are very high quality. Thrud spoke highly of them a while back.
