This is my Cincinatti #2 tool and cutter grinder. I have had it for about three years now and haven't done much with it, however just as soon as EVAN can tell me where to get some "ROUNDTUIT" I will get at it and try to learn how to sharpen some of my tools. Now that "ROUNDTUIT" will have to be in Canadian so I can read the manual eh? http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif

I have been monkeying around with mine for the last couple weeks, It was free and ran good. Was setup for doing large cutters for horizontal mills. I've made an air splindle with 5C collets.
Not having much luck with the ends of endmills thou, wish I could find more info on sharpening them.
An air spindle (at least what I did) was to grind a shaft 1.625 in dia to about a #4 finish and then the holder it slides thru is 1.7 dia in the middle and 1.626 on each end so the air escapes around the shaft. The air under low pressure comes in to the middle of the holder and causes the end mill holding shaft to float in the holder-providing a smooth and easy slide past the grinding wheel. In theory.

Jim...Nice looking machine you have there! I've never even stood beside one of those...lol! I don't think there is one in this whole valley. I may have to change that some day! (Hey...a thought...when you come out here again...bring it with you...so I can stand beside it http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

Actually Russ, the machine looks better in the picture than in real life. It has had some pretty rough use in it's former life. I have done a little surface grinding on it with results good enough for what I wanted. Still got to bite the bullet and try to do some cutters on it. Kind chicken, if you know what I mean. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif
