Here are my first paying projects. I hope the pic posting works. Here goes...

http://www.mindspring.com/~abodom/001.jpg

These are two Remington 700 bolts I have made new extended handles for.

Here is the switch barrel tube gun kit I've completed minus sights. I'll get to shoot it in a match in two weeks. .260, .308 and 6.5 x 284 cal.

Here is west Ga. shooting central.
I didn't bother taking a pic of the first AR I built. It shoots great though. Turned and chambered the tube myself. The first two matches this year I've shot high master scores with it.

Good looking work -- what is the method used to color the AR?

I don't know why the pic won't post. I know someone will straighten me out. Some did, I edited, some didn't, I edited, now none, screw it. HELP.

The AR is actually a tube gun kit from MAK Industries that one takes a Rem 700 short action and glues it inside the tube. He has them in any color you would want. I just trued the action and barreled it after I glued it in.

meho...that 6.5X 284 has me licking my lips http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif One of my favourite's was a 6.5 X 270 that I built some years ago. I like the 264 Win Mag also and have a 65.X 55 that's a lot of fun. Nice work BTW!

Nice work on the 700 handles. What did you make them out of? How did you attach them to the bolt?

Tidy shop!

Hi Rick,

I cut half the knob off then drill out and solder a stud in the handle. The knob is made of aluminum. Here's a pic with the stud.

Torker, I liked the 6.5x284, but I only get about 1000 rounds through it before the barrel is gone. The next barrel will be a .243 shooting the new 115 grain Sierra Matchkings. It is superior to the 6.5 in every way.

Nice! The shop disgusts both me and John though - No matter how hard I try I can never get half-assed organized... http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//frown.gif

Best group at 100 meters so far for me is .176 centre to centre with a sauer 200 in .270 caliber shooting hot 90 grain bullets. I think it was a rare occurrence never did it again but then dont go to gun ranges anymore. The canadian government is watching all us gun owners just in case were finally sick of our moronic stupid and crooked as hell politicians.

Thanks for the kind words folks.

Hoffman: Yep, Thats a Rockwell 11x36. I would not have bought it if it were not for the good people here that answered my first post asking about it. You all had a part in getting this beginner chip maker on his way.

Many Thanks,
James
