Any blacksmiths out there that have forged 12L14??
And then machined it?? Good, bad, indifferent?? Any help

12L14 is just fine, like to make a stabilizer for a compound bow or no stress parts like that.

for eye bolts and crane sling rings,,stuff like that I like 1140 stressproof or 1018cr.

You can pretty much do anything to it except weld it.I used to make a lever out of it that had a cold formed section that was drilled and reamed after forming.Didn't see any difference in cutting afterwards.
