View Full Version : Lathe spindle.. L00?

My 1951 Leblond is supposed to be a L00, I have several back plates, one chuck.

The spindle has a female threaded collar on it, chuck has a male w.cone type taper.

How do you tell one from another is there a spec online anywhere? Where I can confirm what I have?

I have been shopping online for a 4jaw chuck. Missed out on one Namebrand w/mount cause I forgot about it. It sold for 99$

MSC has a Bison 8" 4 jaw with integral mount for about $290 in the L00. It's a little expensive but I have one and it's really good quality, Bobby

I'll print out the "lathe specs" page and add it to my documentation. Three: thank you very much..

I am not sure I'll go which way with a chuck. I shop ebay for bargains. It took about 30-some odd tries to get some bargains on Jacobs ball bearing chucks for my lathe tailstock and one for my mill.

I am stubborn, as you might have guessed. The hammer will finally hit the right brand/right one for my machine.

Here are a couple more that I was trying to find and finally found them.

They show a couple more of different type mounts if you ever run into them.

Just gotta be careful about those pesky chips inside the L-00 socket...it affects the chuck registration.

I also got the Bison 4-jaw 10" with integral mount...pretty nice setup.
