I bought a new Millermatic 255 a while back and have noticed that the gas will bleed off downstream of the regulator after the bottle cock is closed. My acetylene rig will never bleed off after the cocks are closed (yes, I do bleed them manually) and I am curious if I have a leak or if this is normal for a MIG gun> Thanks...

tighten all your fittings, check them with soapy water.

Is that a "Yes, you have a leak, it should hold from one day to the next!" or a method of finding a leak that perhaps was designed into the MIG gun and no solution exists?

You have a leak somewhere between the connection at the valve & the tubing termination inside the machine. Probably only three or four places to check with the soapy water solution.

It should hold pressure for days after closing the valve.
