I live a few hundred miles south of him. The only thing I know is that he let a really stinky fart the other day.

I suspect that we have a lot of technical talent here. I've been doing network administration, PC support and database development for quite a number of years. Whip it on us.

Spence, I don't need any help right now but thanks for the offer.
I am just a natural born worrier.

topct,
So that's what that was! Around 6:00 pm Sunday I thought the sewage treatment plant here in central Iowa was having problems again.

Maybe his shop thawed out and he's making up for lost time.

Where are your pictures of the numbering jig.
It looks as if all the pictures you had in the posts have gone

Some time ago I changed the address to my pics. I had to cut down on the bandwidth usage. I'll put that one back.

Well, if no one else is going to use this thread, I'll just hijack it http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif
I have an Excel file that won't open. Says it's corrupted. The most recent backup lacks about 4 days work.
Do you know of a good, preferrably freeware or shareware utility that will save me having to rebuild this thing? Suggestions?

I haven't come across a corrupt excel file yet. I did have some problems with some Quattro Pro spreadsheet files a few times. In those cases there were methods of opening the file using command line options that made it possible to recover the data. In other cases I've had spreadsheet files that would not open and yet the data was accessable using references in an external spreadsheet that drilled down to the data. There are several back doors that might still work. If it isn't sensitive stuff you could send it to me and I could see what I could see.
