im probably not the first one to notice, but i just did right now and couldnt help keep it to myself, They just made their mills even bigger!! with 12 by 30 inch of travel, its the biggest ive seen!!

I thought you had to get a knee mill if you wanted more than 9 inches of travel, is there any other brand out there that offers a gear head bench square column mill such as this one?

Chris...send the info on that to Busy Bee and House of Tools. They can get almost any machine you want....just be ready for sticker shock.

no other brand has one like it. aaron has the biggest bench mill in the US pretty much. it's a kickass machine, aside from the motor issues i've been having with mine. when i was on the phone with him last night, i think he said he had 39 machines ready to get sold.

psomero...is that US made then? Just wondering. The guy I talked to at Busy Bee told me he could get any machine made in Taiwan. He even sent me prices on all the stuff I asked about. All these where machines they don't carry. Or maybe these are a special order deal that only he has access to(the gear head mentioned above)?

nope. it's made by tong-yong in china. same people make stuff for bob at lathemaster.com

and yes, it is a machine built to his specs. it's based on the rf-45 though.

Man, $1600 seems kinda steep for a small asian mill. Nobody said this was cheap though...
I see regular knee mills for that or just a little more.

Try $2695! http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//redface.gif

I can buy a clean BP 1J for that kind of money... and still have enough money to buy beer for the riggers!
