My wife has a meeting in Reno the first of June and I'm going along to roam the countryside for a few days. Any machinery dealers, etc. or other points of interest you know of that I could visit, and no the casinos don't interest me.

I haven't been to Reno in a long time but it is for the most part singularly uninteresting. The one real exception is the auto museum.

Reno has really gone downhill since they closed the Mustang Ranch in 1999.
Heh heh. The Kit Kat Ranch in Carson City is still open...Free software for calculating bolt circles and similar: Click Here

I would definitely go visit Soar Minden and get a Lake Tahoe Glider Ride.. There is always something fun to do at the smaller airports

Reno, The Biggest Little City on Earth.
A trip to Reno is not complete unless one spends at least one day, wandering around Virginia City. Plenty of old iron stores to sneak a look into, in Carson City. Also, might visit the museum in the old U.S.Mint building, there on the main drag.
With any luck at all, your wifey could reschedule your trip over the Hot August Nights weekend. About the same time you could spend a few days at the Reno Air Races. Then there is Truckee, Squaw Valley, Tahoe City and the rest of the lake. Better take about two weeks. One week could be spent at Donner Pass, walking the rails or better yet, try walking a mile or so on the routes over the rocks which those hardy souls used while moving west.
