Will a J-head turret and dovetail ram fit on an M-head base?????
Yes and no. If you have a round ram M head, only the early model dovetail turret will fit it with no mods. If your M head is a dovetail, it's a drop on conversion. In the event you don't know the difference between early and late turrets, the early ones had studs that went down into the column of the machine, with cut outs in the column which allowed clearnace for tightening nuts. The later dovetail turrets have mounting bolts which protrude upward fom the turret itself.
