I think we have all met some here or there. Last night at work i was grinding a large (HUGE) nitro base for a die. Below me a little indian guy fairly new employee was starting up the huge blanchard grinder. Suddenly chunks of broken grinding stones were richocheting all over the place. If i had been armed i would of come up shooting. Instead i went to the ****ter for a mental break. He didnt notice there werent any stones left in the wheel and fed it down into the workpiece until the metal clamping segments hit the part which was clamped to a small angle plate. It up ended and struck the rapidly turning wheel resulting in a wheel blowup. Oh Well. Today i walk by him and he is on the vertical die saw. He has his hand resting on the table about an inch from the moving blade. I walked WAY away from him and made sure he saw me then casually mentioned to him get your ****ing fingers off the saw,. I noticed then,,no kidding,, he had two fingers missing one hand from a previous adventure. Hes 59 years old had a business for twenty five years and now hes in my shop. i would like to fire him now but im not the owner. Funny eh other people can screw you up too. Caution everyone. Watch out what others are doing around you. The johny walker has helped but just a little .Think ill have a few more. Take care Madman

Maybe that's why he no longer has a shop and is now in yours.

A case of: "gis` a job mista, I can do that" and maybe he is cheap also. We have plenty of Indians and others here who will try anything to earn a crust; and there are more arriving daily http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//frown.gif http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//frown.gif http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//frown.gif
It keeps the wages low when you have ex-sweat shop employees working next to you.

We pay darn near everyone 24 to 28 dollars an hour. Apprentices dont make as much and for good reason they scare me also.
