i recently purchased the above lathe and finally set it up on a work bench i made. when testing things i found out the hand that engages the cross to travel along the drive screw sometimes stops going forward. in reverse it seems better. i'm in the process of buying a new set of half nuts for this problem. any other suggestions.
p.s. the drive screw looks ok to me.thnaks ken kuban

Do you mean that the half nuts pop open?

they don't pop open i think they just don't total engage tight enough to grasp on the lead screw to tranport the cross stock.
any other thoughts would be appriecated. thanks ken kuban
