They still put it in cans, got some about six weeks ago.

I ordered a couple of "cans" of Dykem and when it arrived it was spray cans. I don't like that!

I can't dye any thing with any finesse without taping it up like a car for painting.

Then the overspray must land somewhere.Perhaps I now need a spraybooth on my layout table.....

I will endevor to read more carefully the small print on future orders.

If it's not broken, why do I keep trying to fix it....

It was quite a while ago. Ten years?

I recently got some from KBC (8 oz brush cap can - blue: part # 1-442-001). They also have it in red and in quart cans. I agree about the spray cans.

I bought a spray can of the Blue Dykem and put it on the shelf. One night I came home from dinner to see a mist in the shop. Closer examination revealed a very fine stream of blue/purple Dykem squirting from the side of the can and spraying the wall, shelf, air, everything in the shop. Quite a mess to clean up. Probably a defective can, but no more spray cans for me.

The original query was steel cans vs. plastic bottles, I think?

Just curious, is "Dyken" plural of "Dyke"?

I have an old metal can as well. It doesn't keep all that well after a couple of decades. I use a jumbo sharpie now.
