a friend of mine bought out a shop this week and I got to pick through the scraps for stuff he couldn't be bothered with for resale.

I got a couple of lead hammers, another hammer mold, a nice Weller soldering gun, some tool steel barstock, some nice springloaded wirecuttters, a nice vintage Craftsman router, a brand new 20lb propane cylinder, a half filled gallon can of Kroil, a shear that I think was designed for shim stock, and best of all, a small sandblasting cabinet.

Now if only somebody would throw out a couple of bedframes - I need angle iron http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif

I though you meant you took a bath.

Kroil is great stuff, but watch those bed frames. They are to angle iron what sash weights are to cast iron. Most will take the teeht off your band saw in a heartbeat.

Someone else mentioned cleaning up also. Must be something subliminal going on- I've started to clean up the shop. What a job. I just got out of there a few minutes ago. I found myself just standing around in a daze. Can only take so much of it at one time. I'd rather be cleaning up the other way- like the time I came home with a perfectly functional flex shaft tool for $2.

I've generally had good luck with bedframes, but I do understand what you're talking about - I plan to use the chopsaw to cut them up. I need the bedframe to make a stand for the sandblaster as it's taking up valuable real estate on top of one of the many cluttered workbenches.

I went through the box of goodies, and discovered I also grabbed a little demagnetizer as well.

Now if only somebody will throw out a syncrowave... http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif
