A while ago I did a very small favour for a guy, just a little help and a bit of scrap meterial and time, no money involved at all.

I mentioned to him that I collected old engineering books.

Today he called round with 30 volumes of Newnes Practical engineering from Vol 1 in 1940 to Vol 30 in 1954
I offered to buy these but he would't accept anything for them

Another reason to move to the UK!Gear hodders, German made slotter and countless others!

Way to go John and when you have read them all, you can forward them to...

When I do a small job for a friend I usually get coffee and "chopper talk"
(He is building one!)

Evan, I think the phrase you seek is "get stoned, it's your turn" !!

You know John, I've given it considerable thought and come to this conclusion, it just ain't fair http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

He who gives the first stone a good turn---probably puts his back out. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif

All this horseing around with words aside, it's just good karma to help others selflessly, as John found out.

I have no room for all those books, so that's all I have to say.

We get stoned a lot up here in canada. Usually only when were reading books. Or shooting beer cans at the gravel pit.
