I was thinking of buying a hardinge second op lathe and converting it to cnc. Does anyone no if there's a web site with info on this?

They come up on ebay every so often. Can't imagine it would be cheaper to buy and convert as opposed to already buying. Hardinge CHNC's go for a few hundred to a few thousand - could buy and retrofit the controller.

See if you can get an old CHNC. It's the same thing but it alreadty has the ball screws and motors. You can pitch the rest of the stuff. They're usually cheaper than just the chuckers alone.
