It's been a couple of months ago, but there was a post about electrolitical rust removal. Can someone help me out with finding the post or give me some instructions on it? Thanks,

For long stock and pipe you can make up a cleaning tank from 4" pvc sewer pipe w9ith a quarter of the dia cut length wise and two pipe caps. Or for really big tanks, bottles carbaloy's out of plastic. check this place out.

Made one up to clean 8 foot blinds for a cleaning company. Used a threaded cap on one end for easy insert and egress of the blinds.

Evan's post used lye or sodium hydroxide. You can also use sodium carbonate (Arm&Hammer wash soda) if you're affraid to have lye around.

Using lye makes a more agressive solution for heavily rusted parts. You can also mix washing soda and the lye to adjust the solution agressiveness. A lye solution will also de-anodize aluminum.

I suggest you print out the pages because it is too long to read comfortably off the computer monitor.
