I've been sorta absent lately. Been working at a welding contract with a redimix cement company...it's almost done.
As some of you know, the little money sucking truck I've been building has kept my tool purchases to a bare minimum.
The truck is nearly done so the buying began.
Bought a nice little gas powered (3 3/4 hp) pressure washer, a crossbow type pipe bender (I have a mandrel bender but no dies for pipe), a digital caliper (cuz I'm going blind), a 5C spin index, center finder, a couple of Lyndex collets for the index, a VERY cool new type of welding/assembly clamp, and next friday I'm ordering a new Shooting Star DRO for my mill.
The cement machine repair business is about as ugly a job as you could ever ask to do so I'm getting even with it....buyin a bunch of cool stuff for my fledgling machine shop http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif
Life is good! (after you're finished fixing cement drums that is)

I'm thinking, composite dies.

I missed a 2" die for my bender on ebay. It sold for $25. I forgot about it till it was over. So much for having a personal life huh?

I got 1" 1.5" and a 1" sq die. My bender rocks, does about everything I want it to, but I want one that will do a french curve. I have it drawed on paper.

Ugly jobs get the paychecks rollin. I have worked in sewage plants. Not too bad till you sit down and try to eat the sandwich in your lunch box. DAMN.. have to choke it down..
ANd the Mexicans on the last job, they had a rusty piece of metal and two blocks, one would build a fire under the rusty metal, they'd throw tortillas on the top and warm them to dip in thier grease and beans. I liked to have choked as I saw the unclean food prep. The mist that comes off the aeration tanks is very viral. They would not keep us ice to go into our water bucket, the only thing to keep the bugs from growing is cold or sterilizing heat.
