I am a R&D machinist by trade, my main interest as far as machine work is concerned
is building machine tools, hydraulics, and
toolmaking. I dabble also in steam driven
logging donkeys, especially Willamette Iron
and Steel duplex loaders.

thanks for your replies

There is a live steam club in Vancouver, BC
and a number of the members who are into logging stuff - they are listed in the clubs at the back of "Live Steam". Hope that helps a little.

I'm still a member of the British Columbia Society of Model Engineers, now living in Napa, California. I grew up in SW Washington and spent many happy weekends in Tillamook County.

Are you making models the donkeys or retoring full sized ones? I may be able to find you plan sources from some of my old contacts.

My "dream" project is a 1.5" scale steam shovel, circa 1910.

If you got any interest in steam locomotive engines, go up to Hillsboro to Bartlett Enterprises; I worked for the owner for a few months, and his engines are beautiful.
