I need some assistance or any manufacturing tips from people who have actually built or manufactured Hydraulic Cylinders. I dont want to buy one. I want to make my own for several projects Im currently working on. I know that you can buy tube and shafting but where could I get the seal kits and spring retainers. Thanx Audrey

Hi Audrey,

I make my living with hydraulics...You should be able to get your seals just about anywhere in the world..There has got to be a supply house somewhere in your vicinity, if not then you could maybe find a catalog...I get all my orings and seals just about a block from my work..Hydrapak is their name..you could do some searching on the internet...I have a catalog called "apple rubber products"??? I think that is the name...try to see if you can find them through www.thomasregister.com (http://www.thomasregister.com) or somewhere else...let me know if I can assist you in any way...my email is bspooh@yahoo.com

I have a good friend who is the foreman of a hydralic manufacturing and repair shop. I will find a source for you. I am sure he would sell you the kits if you will tell me a size. He has built several cyl. for me. Monday, I will visit him and see what he will do. Paul http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif
