    Green O-rings

    Hello Everybody
I have been trying to find out what kind
of material is used in some o-rings that
are used in only two places on air rifles.
They are used in the interface between the
reservoir and the rifle (which gos on and
off frequently)and the other place they are used is at the breach seal. Both of these
places are subject to more abrasion than
anyplace else.I have also seen either the
same material or something that looks just
like it used as a seal on fuel injectors on
Fords. I sure would like to know what it is
and where to buy some of these o-rings.
Thanks for any advice you cangive me.

Green usually indicates HNBR in original equipment, but aftermarket can be black. It's a special grade of Buna-N called Hydrated Buna-N or Hydrated Nitrile with better wear resistance then standard Buna-N, and corresponding higher price. There doesn't seem to be any standard as far a color goes, so what one manufacturer uses, may not be the same as another.

The last place I saw those green "O"rings, was in a farm store. They are used to change the name of bull calves to steers.

The Cummins in the Dodge also uses these green o-rings for injector seals.
