In the Jan/Feb, 1985 issue of HSM there was a review of a Barker Horizontal Mill. I have just acquired an older version of the same model(model PM). Mine has the same specifications except that all three axis are lever operated, there are no cast lugs for an overarm, and the speed range is 1035 to 2875. It also has a heavy cast iron coolant pan with a pump. I would like to get a photo-copy of an operator's manual and parts list or any other information. My immediate problem is that I don't know how to remove the arbor or the step-pulley from the spindle. Also, the HMS review mentioned that to use a shank cutter a collet chuck replaces the arbor. I wonder if this chuck is a generic one or if it was made for this machine. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks, DT

Thanks for the information on the Barker mill Martin. I assumed they were out of business since they don't advertise in the hobby magazines. From their web site it appears that they sell to machine shops.
