My Grandfather passed away. The estate is short of cash and Grandmother is now in an assisted living home. Grampa had a Clausing Mill Model 8525 serial#000327 It is kind of small for what I would like to use on the farm and I don't have a good spot for it right now. My Uncle asked me to find out what it might bring to help pay some bills. It is almost unused!!! has no rust and a bunch of goddies. Many endmills (100+ all new),new clamp kit, a pair of vices, and some other things. We haven't found the manaul, but we found the invoice for the manual. Thanks in advance Vince

Sounds like the small Clausing vertical mill with a B&S taper spindle. The 8520 (with MT2 taper) is probably more sought after, but if it is in good shape, should bring $500-2500 depending on what the market is like in your location. Come to think of it, $2500 is probably a real stretch unless it is in near new condition and you find a buyer that is well off and has been looking years for a Clausing 852X.
Those little Clausing mills are gems. I think MikeHenry is probably about right. One in really good shape, with tooling, might bring $2500 if you could find an appreciative buyer. Based on your description, $2000 doesn't sound out of line at all. (Just a guess - I'm no machinery dealer.)

Ask $2000 hold out for at least $1500. Owned one for several years. Excellent machine. It is far, far superior and much more useful than the Taiwan and Chinese imports.

I am in western New york. The mill is near Saritoga NY. Also have a real cute little lathe with colets.
