Clausing 4902 - Need Chucks/Steady Rest

Great Forum!

I just recently purchased a 4902 Clausing, serial # 400349.

Problem is, I didn't get a steady rest with it, and right now don't have the capacity to modify another manufacturer's steady rest to adapt.

Next problem - I can't find any 3 jaw chucks that have 1 3/4-8 thread, or any adapter plates either???

I just went through the chuck search for my Jet (2", 8TPI). Hope you have better luck. I ended up machining a plate from a blank.

I have an old dog driver plate that is threaded 1 3/4x 8 ( Currently has a bushing screwed in that is about 1 1/4x? )
If this is of any value to you, you can have it for the cost of shipping.

You can find just about anything you will need
on e-bay under the Metalworking Category. They have a variety of steady rests and 1 3/4-8 thread chuck adapters.I have saved a lot of $$
