hambone.
Way back when... I was taking machining class at the local tech school. They had a 10" Leblond on a nice cabinet base that was obviously unused for years. I thought it looked like a sweet little machine, so I asked the teacher numerous times about how I could buy it from the school (I had a worn out Atlas lathe that I was eager to replace). He kept saying "Aw, you don't want that lathe, A couple of the gears are missing teeth". I kept telling him I didn't see any big hurdle in fixing that problem. He must have fried too many memory cells or something. I learned six months later that they sent the lathe to the scrapper because nobody wanted it. That dumb-ass!! I would have given them some money to buy tooling for the students or whatever. (He wasn't much of a teacher either)
Interestingly, I later picked up a 15 x 48 Leblond Regal that I am still happy to have. To me it looks like the exact machine in a larger scale.
p.s. You might find a lead on others with a 10" Leblond at the Yahoo group
