Trading etiquette on this forum?

What's the scoop on posting an offer to trade on this forum?

I have a tool with the wrong mounting plate for my machinery and want to trade it straight up to someone with the right plate. Is this "machinists helping each other" or is it considered the same as selling something?

I've seen outright sales of some tools slip by unnoticed (seemingly), while at other times folks are castrated for almost giving away something.

If it's OK to trade, I'll add details later.
