Here s a picture of an improvement I made to a Miller spoolmatic spoolgun.

The gun used to take the long Miller wire tips, they are about 3" long and cost a couple bucks each.

The tips work okay on the larger sizes of wire like .047,but the smaller sizes like .025 and .030" it had a tendency to burn the wire off back up in the tip and ruin it,not to mention all the aggrevation of changing the tip etc.

The end result is the gun now takes the same tips as all the other mig guns in the shop and burning back is nearly eliminated, plus the short tips are $0.50 each instead of $3.00

Thanks for that,so far as thread sizes I found three different ones to be most common.
6mmx1.00
1/4-28
and 1/4-24

The 1/4-24 fits the other Miller and Linclon machines so I went with that.

Thanks Weird. Maybe some day I will get a spool gun and this would work right in.
