I stumbled on some really excellent information on gears. It is in PDF format and can be saved to disk for later reference.

That could be a useful reference someday Evan, thanks for posting the link.

I have no plans that involve gearcutting at the moment, but information on a PDF file like this is so handy, as you can just print off the relevant page or so that's needed, and avoid damaging a good textbook with oily thumbprints in the workshop.

That's a manual that was, I believe, created by Boston Gear. They some other good information like that on their website.

Great info - thanks, Evan. It seems so often the case that the best sources of info are the makers of a product. "If you know how to use our product correctly and to the best benefit, we both do better business." Something like that.
