Oky so i have finally started on my cnc retrofit on my busy bee mill drill ..

I have all of my stepper motors ...They are 1200z

I have first started on my z axis retrofit first because i dont have my ball screws in yet ..I have 4 pictures that i would like to post in this thread but i cant get the pictures to copy and paste on. So if anyone has any advice how to do that it would be great .So i can recieve some feed back on the design.
Thanks

Holy crap! You need to edit those pics a little smaller.
That looks a lot like my setup. I used a 12 volt windsheild wiper motor and a 40 to 1(if I remember right) reduction. It's still too fast for drilling with anything more than a 3/8" drill in steel and could use more reduction for boring. It does work for boring but puts a heavy strain on everything. The little cash register gear on the motor is about wornout now. I still have to build a proper gear train for it...about 100 to 1 redution will be right for mine.
I'm assuming you're using a timing belt.
I have no idea how many ounces of power my motor has but even with the reduction it is barely moving to bore properley. BTW...mine isn't cnc...just a 12 volt motor run through a PWM control.
