What is the correct way to cut T-slots? I have the tools, I think, but I am afraid to try without some knowlege. ref@kiva.net

First, cut the neck to width and to depth of the bottom of the slot. Refer to Machinist Handbook for dimensions. The idea is to reduce the load on the T-slot cutter by removing all the excess metal possible with endmill. Cut the depth of the cut with the endmill .002 - .004 deeper than the finished slot bottom. Then cut the finish cut with the T-slot cutter. It must start and finish at final depth, you have to have a place to start from. Should have to make only one cut with the cutter. Its as simple as it looks. Steve
