Gates are a nice machine but not as well know as a Colchester etc
Add to this the guy selling it thinks it's operated from the back hence all the rear shots and it's a bit of an unknown.

Combine with having to shift a 1 tonne lathe and I reckon it will not go for more than 220 if that.

I think someones going to get a bargain here John. I was surprised myself by all the rear shots he took wonder why?Alistair

One of these went darn sarf last year for 99p or some such silly figure, another in the NE for a couple of hundred. I saw that one, it wasn't exactly new but still quite serviceable.

15" x 40", 1.5" spindle bore, speeds from 45-2000 3-5hp 2 speed motor.

If I had more room than I could swing my Myford in...

Looks good to me! But I am on the wrong side of the pond. His feedback is good as well! Good luck Fred

It looks like a good machine, but it is an excellent example of how to get the lowest price possible on eBay. Poor photos, cluttered, dirty machine and little or no meaningful information.

I am surprised you didnt go for it John if you have enough room. You could have either used it or sold it on after a good clean up :DAlistair
