I've been a F1 fan since mid 60's. Back then Wide world of Sports would show Monaco about three weeks after the race. I loved to watch Nigel Mansel drive. My wife and I raise Great Danes and all the males in our first litter was named after F1 Drives.

I am a fan of F1 but don't have time to follow all the races. I am really a fan of the technological advances that have come from F1, unlike NASCAR that would like to stay in the dark ages with solid rear axles, carburetors and push rod motors. NASCAR cars should reflect what is being sold in the automotive market if they are going to call them stock cars. There's not a new car sold in the U.S. today that uses a carburetor and many have overhead cam engines, even my pick-up truck has twin overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder. F1 did put a limit on the engines of 19,000 rpm, which bites because there's no finer sound than a car going by at full speed and 20,000+ rpm. I guess we will have to live with the sound of 19,000rpm.

F1 Fan here, I watched qualifying this morning!

Much better IMHO than the go-fast-turn-left style NASCAR does.

Thanks for the heads-ups. I was wondering when the season was going to start.

When I was stationed in England back in the late 70's I used to go to Silverstone to watch the races.
