Hi all,
I've got a couple of questions...first off, should I be putting a thin film of oil on my collets before I put them in the mill, or should they go in clean and dry? It's a Grizzly benchtop, with an R-8 spindle.
Secondly, I thought I remembered reading a reason why cutting fluid isn't used on brass very early in my interest in machining, and haven't come across any reference to it since....maybe something about corrosion/degradation of the metal brought about by a chemical reaction due to the heat involved.....?
I know I should know for sure about the first question.....sorry, and thanks!
John
