Yeah, that's Dave Kush -- he's amazing. He's been a prolific Hobby CNC builder since the CrankOrgan days.
His web page is pretty plain, but a couple of my favorites are his automatic tool changer:http://www.buildyouridea.com/cnc/atc...phase_one.html
...and his completely home-built 18x24 CNC router. No fancy mega-buck linear guides, his axis are made with his own linear rail system:
Here, he's casting his only linear bearings from lost-foam molds he made from his own CNC foam cutter. Now that's cool!
He also builds and sells a really nice 3-axis bipolar microstepping motor driver called ArcSin (with an integrated joystick control, no less ):
