Hi all hope you are all well
Need some advice or link to information.
As I have a small shop and a tool collecting fetish I have the need to make a locking lever to keep the wheels I have installed on my new bandsaw in the down position.
I have made the mechanism so that the wheels could be lowered such that the bandsaw could be moved to a vacant area, but now need a lever mechanism to enable this. I have tried several things but I feel I am missing something (brain cells) as I cannot get it to lock. On baby buggies with hoods there was a system that raised the hood and then locked in place it looks so simple but I am assuming there must be a knack to it!!
The movement involved is about 4" so a simple cam will not work.
Any ideas
Peter

It's called an "over centre" lock.
A quick google reveals more than you ever wanted to know :D
