Why not make your own? Metal Lathe Accessories has a casting set for $65.00. www.statecollegecentral.com/metallathe/index.html (http://www.statecollegecentral.com/metallathe/index.html)
I have no connection, but have built some of his things. They are very well thought out and castings are excellent quality.

Thanks JC.. I may buy one.. I got a lil bitty steam engine I need a week to machine too thou.

I was kinda dissapointed with the castings on it.

I have thought of doing something similar with a cupola.. cast iron for old gas engines.

Just won and paying for a Criterion S3 square head. 1/2" to 4 1/4". I think it will serve my needs till I can do a lil better.. This one, I am sure will go far beyond my reach and budget..

50 bucks.. thrud, 58.50 at door postage and all. Sometimes ebay is okay. It is a tool supply company in Fla. they have more on ebay.

Criterion is not exactly junk either - still, I hope you did not have to trade too many beers for it! http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

Look for it to skyrocket in the last minutes.. I usually wait till the last 60 seconds to bid on items myself.. Called sniping, hit them fast and knock them out of the auction. Ebay will auto-bid for you, just enter your max price. Make sure you read all about the seller first thou, Buyer beware on all things.
I have sold, and got some bargains on ebay.

IBEW.....

Take the shot! we'll root for ya.... You just never know.... that happens sometimes too. So you don't "overbid".... and have all summer to think about it...

Actually, it looks kind of beat, and is missing the attachments and the hardwood case it originally came with.
You are probably better off with a good Criterion than spending the money for this one.
The guy can't seem to decide if original price was $6,400 or $4,600. Maybe he's talking US$ vs. Canadian$?

Beat or not.. currently at 272.77 with 4 hours to go.. My personal spending limit was less than 200.. heck.. I got the criterion, now looking for tooling for it.. shucks golly gee.. usually it don't move till the last minutes..

Hey, quit telling them how to bid on the good stuff man - that way us hosers get our goodies for less! (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif
