Hello, 1st posting here. I just wanted to introduce myself, I've recently aquired a Clausing 8520 mill and a Delta 10" x 30" lathe. Not much tooling but the formentioned should foster the need. Is anyone out there know of a MT2 boring head? Or any other MT tooling for the Clausing. Looking forward to excanging dialog with you all.

Kind regards

Ray... (hoof)

Welcome to the forum. Lots of helpful, knowledgeable people here.

Can you tell us a bit about the type of work you do, or hope to do? Also, while you're about it, how about adding your location to your personal profile?

My 40 hr a week gig is the design of maching and process control equipment. Primarly for the paper industries. Thing's along the line of PLC's Motor controls, and HMI's (The LCD touch screen's that have replaced hardware push buttons, knob's meter's and the like). The machine tools at the house were purchased for a few reasons. I feel a need to explore a couple of trades with my kids. And together we are in the process of converting a 1970 subaru 360 pick-up truck to electric drive. This seemed to be enough to justify the purchase. Had it not been I suppose I've though of more reasons.

If you haven't already, request the Travers www.travers.com and MSC www.mscdirect.com catalogs. They will give you plenty of opportunities to spend money!

Several years ago I got the "quality import" 2" dia. boring head from Travers, and it's been fine. Morse #2 shank shouldn't be difficult to get.
