Sewing Machine Motor

Got a small motor from a home sewing machine and wonder what revolutions this little fella gets up too and if it's any good for using on a small drill press.

The details on the motor are as follows FERRIS Sewing Machine Motor, 240 V, 50 c/s a.c. 75w.

First off if you have 240 volts in your shop I have used them in the past to make a flex shaft drive motor with the speed control.
Secondly at one time in years past I was told that all the sewing drive motors run the opposite direction as standard. Has something to do with drive and needle mech. Of course as a grind sander direction only counts from which side you put it to the material.If I remember correctly the one I had did spin real fast.:D
