Another quickie. I needed a large vise for some plate I had to cnc drill. I had some heavy 3x3 angle laying around with a old screw jack from a furrin jap car. I laid the jack on it's side and welded it to center of one angle cut to width cnc table, I had predrilled holes width of slots on table on 3 pieces. I laid another piece on table protecting table with A-cloth and tacked on angle to top of jack, other piece is back up on other side of table. I tacked in some 3/8 keystock to space plate off table. You adjust jack in, insert plate between angle on top of keystock, tighten jack, tighten slot bolts and drill away.
Only problem I see is that I have to manually move angle since the jack only is forced one way and dependent on gravity to retract. Perhaps a couple of springs? Air cylinders in place of jack? anyways..
Later, this job is done. I need a place to store all this junk I have prefabricated.
Value=need at present time.
