I mite get my hand slapped for this but I started a forum for Old American Iron. It Includes ATW, South Bend,Clausing,Hendey amount others.

Also includes Shapers,Mills,Drill Press"s, Any thing that is not Included can be added.

I intend to add a forsale or trade section or anything else you mite want or need.
I couldn't get the link thing to work so you'll hace to copy and paste it. I forgot to say that the site does host pictures. So you don't need to use photobucket or some other place.

If you want to check it out or want to join We'll be glad to have you......Thanks for looking..

I don't see why you'd get your hand slapped. I'm glad to see a site like this. When I get a bit more time I'd like to post up what little info I have on my old Ohio mill made by the Oesterlein Machine Company.
Thanks!
Russ

Damn - they're hosting on AS400's. I love those beasts. I also like the registration. Short, sweet, no yahoo group bs. Good luck with it.

Looks good to me,I think it's great!

I would suggest a "Dirty paper" section for folks needing manuals or wanting to up-load scans of manuals.

Any plans to include a woodworking machines section since there is a lot of overlap between the two trades?

I swear I thought that said "dirty diaper" :D . I agree on the manuals section since I'd really like to find one for my old shaper if one exists.

I'm a big fan of pure historical information and images, too - a history section perhaps?

cool site! i just signed up. i would also like to see a section on "dirty paper". people are always looking for manuals for this stuff.

as for the woodworking machines, the OWWM site (Old WoodWorking Machines) pretty much covers it and it the best online source for info on those items.

yes, it is tied into the yahoo group, but you can contact the people without joining the group. i think it's great when there are a lot of sources for info, but it is also good when there is a single site that just has a tremendous volume of info and research, and for woodworking, the OWWM site is it. maybe 7018's site will become the one for OMWMs (Old MetalWorking Machines). :)

OWWM has long been free of Yahoo. The discussion board is at:

and the database site is at:
