Howdy. Just reg'd on this forum and am looking forward to reading what is written by those more knowledgeable than me, which means everyone but me. My dad was a master tool & die maker but like a lot of fathers he was too driven in his work to teach me anything about the trade. So, now that I have more time available I want to learn as much as I can. It's something I've always wanted to do. I can weld pretty good, actually I'm very pleased with my welding, am learning tig, have a good drill press, and am close to deciding on a Sheldon lathe that is available in my area. I like working on cars and have done a frame up restoration of a '69 Bronco and am in the process of doing the same on a '74 FJ40 Land Cruiser. Looking forward to learning through reading here and other sources. I anticipate asking many questions so please be patient! :)

Put a deposit on a 13" Sheldon lathe. Think it's early 50's vintage. First bit of fun will be moving it to my place. Should be interesting.

Good to have someone else in the zoo, Best thing is you dont see any of the other inmates, Dont worry about being a Newbie, In spite of many years of "experts" telling me otherwise, You stop being a newbie at 143 years of age, When you get more experience___ In the mechanical arts we are all newbies& never change.:D
