What kind of boring bar holder is that in the last photo? I'd like to see the rest of it.

'Once more into the breech . . ' Nice job.
Cutting threads deep inside is one scarry job, i'm still not sure if I do it right. How are you supposed to do it, the clearance part is easy.
The only one i've done I bored through at near the root diameter and then snuk up on it until the part fitted all in all a very trying business!!

I turn the tool upside down and thread in reverse, from the inside out. A lot less scarey.

My toolpost is the same as Mark's except mine is made in Germany.Peter is right- internal threading in a deep hole is scary.I thought about turning the tool upside down and threading from the oposite side but I decided against it.You have to maintain your concentration. You get used to cutting external threads and backing the cutter away from the work. Internal threading is backwards and it can be easy to turn the crossfeed the wrong way.Mark- that toolpost on Ebay was a steal. I know what mine cost- you can pretty much move that decimal point one place to the right. They are a nice toolholder.

yep, it sure was a steal for the guy who beat me by 5 seconds :(

next time i will be putting my bids in with 15 secs to go ...........

he was German too ...

the Germans already have them cheaper over there .....so i don't understand.

Ive looked often and not bought from germany.,..
well once .

.....and the whole German transaction cost me about 20 percent on top..............germans don't like paypal ...and had to risk sending euro notes by registered post....and that i didn't like doing one bit.

my brand new german holders were 25 each......before all the crap.

all the best.mark

aboard, if you just make the highest bid you will pay for the widget ebay will bid for you up to that amount. If you like getting in bidding wars and setting on the edge of the chair and end up paying way more than you intended then have fun.

138.88 was my highest bid...it was sitting at 128.00

its just that ...if i had made it just 5 seconds later .....my opponent wouldn't have had the time....lesson learned

all the best.markj
