View Full Version : Nam Sun 1530 lathe?

A good friend of mine has a line on a Nam Sun 1530 lathe; about 20 years old in good shape wear wise.... needs some electrical work, which doesn't scare me. Anyone ever heard of such a beast? Looks like a camlock spindle nose...
The unit appears to be roughly 15" swing and 30" between centers, built heavy.
Any info appreciated...
Never heard of that one, but if you post pictures, perhaps someone will at least be familiar with the design.

I think that Nam Sum is Korean. I doubt that replacement parts are going to be available, but it looks pretty well made and if the price is right... With the options that are on it - travadial, collet closer, it deserves a good look.

Looks to be another Mori Seiki type copy. Very similar to Victor, etc. It should be electrically straightforward to fix. I would jump on it if the price is right.
