It's been about 25 years since I have worked as a Machinist . Work in assembly is slow and I have had to machine parts on Lathes and Mills .
I had a time of it adjusting to it. Don't know what to do to keep from making mistakes like today. On the Print is called out .113 od 6-40 unf x .500 dp. Totally mist it and assumed it was 6-32 unc . Saw that 6 and was drilling and tapping.
Anybody have a check off sheet or process they use to correct the urge jump to action. I know think, slow down and read the prints. But I need a method ideas to force it. Thank you
