Does anyone have any info on an Abrasive Machine Tool Co. No. 3-B surface grinder, or the company itself. I just accquired one such beastie. It's about 2 tons of battleship grey cast iron. There is a Boeing re-build sticker from 1967 and that's about all I know. I'm trying to get some general info on the company, and perhaps track down a manual.

Thanks in advance,

Geoff

THe spindle rides in a bronze bushing on the front end and in a ball bearing set up on the back the front bushing is tapered and is adjustable by moving the flange in or out depending on the shim/spacer thickness behind it. Absolutely requires a drip oiler for the front bearing. Generally they do not have much oomph. We always used them for finish work couple to three tenths at a time
