Hi all: I'm new here but have been around Vancouver Island 60 plus years. Anyway, I have a lantaine metal lathe Model LAM 350CH which has a cracked worm gear. This is, to me, the sacrificial part of this lathe. Its "gun metal" but I would call it sintered bronze. I understand that the Lantaine is maybe a clone of the following or vice versa: Peerless/ Frejoth/ Repco/ MacMillan. Anyone know for sure? Do you guys know of any dealers who would carry parts for this lathe? Thanks for your time, Wayne.

Welcome to the group. Your joining may have tipped the balance -- it seems there may be more Canadians than Americans. Are you from Port Alberni?

You might try a supplier like Boston Gear and see if it's a stock generic part (or if it can be made from a stock generic part with some modifications.)
