When I lived in Wellington in the 1970s any pub would fill a takeaway half-gallon from the tap. I favored Lion Brown. Are these half-gees in the photo, or am I fooled by the small size of the kid?

No, they are not 1/2 gallon flagons Allan. As you mention, we had the glass items then. When they were deleted, the plastic "pub pet" was inflicted on us:confused: Beer never tasted as good as from the glass flagon!

Maybe he was hanging around bugging some guy at his shop and the guy sent him out for a "bottle of steam" to get him out of his hair. :D

Growlers are making a comeback in many areas, particularly brewpubs.

Hi Alistair.

If you get a "tat" just have a small single word "Military" done and if you live in Edinburgh you can lay claim to having a real genuine "Edinburgh Military Tattoo".

You can really up-stage, look down on and use your "Hosie" and pi*s (green preferred) all over the rest of 'em. It will be even better if they are looking up trying to see up your kilt.

As long as you don't pi*s yourself laughing of course.

That would really be "one in the eye" for 'em.
