I built the "homemade power drawbar " thought I'd share some pics.

Nice, I have never used a power draw bar, I can see it would save from pulling the threads or under tightening.

I use the two finger method, as tight as I can get it with two fingers on a good size mill wrench. I figure if I can strip the treads with 2 fingers the bar was shot anyway.

VERY Nice!! I think youre gonna LOVE that mod .... I know I do mine!

Did you use the plans? I got them and then didnt do much more than skim them, ending up mostly copying Bob Warfields, with ideas from couple others. Seems each machine takes a different way to mount it, and you end up designing that part on your own anyway...

After my recent problem with the spindle and resulting teardown -- on reassembly I've ended up with a bit of mis-alignment somehow on the downstroke and the socket wont engage sometimes .. some quick adjustments havent fixed it, looks like I'm gonna have to get serious with it:confused:

Here's the thread from when I did mine-----

Bill, I just looked at Bob's pictures and Marc M's pics, and kinda' worked it out.
I used push together fittings for the nylon tube, and I made slots where I bolted to my "riser" blocks on top the head,so I could adjust my alignment.
thanks for the comments,brent

p.s. I hope the link to webshots worked so all 4 pics showed !
