Where can I find a copy of this book? I have seen repeated reference to it and I am new to carbide cutting procedures.

John,

Any Sandvik Coromant (carbide tooling) dealer either has it or can order it for you. Other wise try www.coromant.sandvik.com (http://www.coromant.sandvik.com) or 1-800-726-3845 in the USA or 1-800-268-0703 in Canada. When I purchased mine it was $60 Canadian. It is well worth the price - lots of history, science, & chip making.

I called today (1/7/02) and the nice lady in customer service said neither the "Turning of Threads" application guide or the "Modern Metal Cutting" publication were still available - RATS.

Try Kennemetal - they used to have some reference material on carbide tooling that are available free on request. Can't find an appropriate link on their web site now but the tooling catalogs do have a lot of info in them.

Try calling the local distributor, they usually have copies for their use that you may be able to buy from them. Maybe keep an eye out on e-Bay for one. If I find another one I will let you know...
